BTRF is a sister concern of Bangladesh Center for Communication Programs (BCCP) - a development organization and the successor to the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health/Center for Communication Programs (JHU/CCP), Baltimore, USA.
The emergence of BTRF as an independent foundation is based on the long experience of BCCP in providing capacity building training and conducting various research. BTRF utilizes the experience and expertise of trainers and researchers of BCCP most of whom retained from JHU/CCP. BTRF provides a multiplicity of services critical to enhancing professional competence in both public and private sectors.
Build a knowledge-based society by addressing the growing need of the country to create, share and manage knowledge for sustainable social development in Bangladesh.
The main objectives are to influence policies, evaluate programs, conduct research, and provide training to increase the capacity of professionals for making development activities responsive to the needs of 21 century.
- To provide capacity building training to increase expertise and efficiency for developing and implementing Social and Educational programs, especially for low income and disadvantaged populations.
- To increase the knowledge and skills of the development practitioners on various types of research including formative research, assessments, perception studies, monitoring and impact evaluation.
- To build a strong knowledge base of the professionals working in social development sector by providing them hands on orientation/training to promote sustainable social development.
